5 PM Mass – Contemporary Choir

The Contemporary Choir is responsible for leading the congregation in song at the 5 PM Mass Saturday nights. We practice every Monday in the church form 7:00 pm until 8 to 8:30 pm approximately. We also do a quick practice at 4:30 just before 5 pm Mass starts on Saturdays. We are currently in need of a guitar player and bass player also. And of course new voices to sing are always welcome. We mostly do hymns from the Gather hymnal and other hymns from sheet music as appropriate, more contemporary and some praise and worship hymns. We have a wonderful pianist who also helps to lead as well. If you are interested you can connect with Rosalie Dias here

8:30 AM Mass – Traditional

The music for this Mass is led by our organist and cantors. The hymns are principally taken from the CBW III, Gather Hymnal, and Celebrate in Song books. If you attend this Mass, and would be interested in singing in choir, please contact our organist and choir director, Emer Montano, after Mass or at emontano@dol.ca.

11 AM Mass – Traditional Choir

This choir leads the music for the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, keeping the tradition of mainly signing in 4-part harmony (SATB), in collaboration with the organ or the piano. The hymns are principally taken from the CBW III, Gather Hymnal, and Celebrate in Song books, in addition to anthems (choral solo pieces) from diverse styles and traditions. The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Sundays at 10:00 am, before Mass. Adults and high school students are welcome to join the choir (parent consent forms will need to be signed if under the age of eighteen). Reading music is an asset, but it is not required. If you can carry a tune, and want to share the gift of music by leading the congregation in song and praising the Lord, you can join us! Please contact our organist and choir director, Emer Montano, after Mass or at emontano@dol.ca, for more details and registration..

2 PM Mass – Worship Band

The Praise and Worship Band’s mission is to lead people to Jesus and encourage them to sing to Him with all their hearts. As part of the team, there are opportunities to serve the community at the 2pm Sunday Mass, church-held retreats, and special services throughout the liturgical year. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm. A certain level of skill is necessary, but please do not be intimidated by the application and audition process. Musicians (instrumentalists and vocalists) and those interested in sound tech are invited to apply. Please see the website to fill out the application form or contact Christina Bahati at cbahati@dol.ca.

Children’s Choir

We are happy to announce the beginning of a new choir program in our parish, designed for children ages 6 to 12, and youth ages 12 to 18. The choral rehearsals will run on Saturdays from 10 am to 11 am, starting on February 18. For more details and registration, click click the button below
